It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce the sudden passing of Edward J. Diesel, Jr., 61, of Hammondsport on July 29 as a result of a farming accident which occurred at home.
Edward was the son of Maye and the late Edward Diesel, Sr. Edward was born Sept. 25, 1948 in Rockville Center, Long Island. He was a graduate of Mountain Lakes High School, NJ and Foot Hills College, CA. He was Co-owner of the Bath Packing Company and when he wasn't wrapped up in his work he enjoyed spending time on Keuka Lake, working on the farm, but loved most going to Long Beach Island, NJ for crabbing and playing on the beach. Edward was known for his smile, his mustache, and his heart of gold. You could always find Edward helping out friend in need, making someone laugh, or trying to give someone directions (whether they needed them or not.)
Surviving him is his wife, Diane Emerson Diesel; three daughters, Jill (Damin) Terrill, Kristin Michelee and Mary Elizabeth Diesel; siblings, Mary Schnitzer, Donald (Patty), David, Robert (Adah) and Raymond (Joy) Diesel; along with several nieces and newphews.
He was a loving husband, father, uncle and friends. Edward will be greatly missed.
