To the Editor,
I am writing to discuss my concern about the number of licensed tobacco retailers in New York State. Currently there is one licensed tobacco retailer for every 194 children under age 18. There is a connection between the number of tobacco retailers and the number of illegal tobacco sales to minors.
The youth of our community need to be protected from the influence of big tobacco. The tobacco companies are spending billons of dollars to get our youth hooked on this known carcinogen.
