Let’s be positive

To the Editor,
Flash! Prattsburgh has once again come back into the 21st century by re-introducing recycling as part of our effort to help the planet.

Windmills not as safe as you may think

To the Editor,
If you think a 400 foot machine, weighing 164 tons, with enormous moving parts, isn’t a safety hazard, then you have simply been misinformed.

Let’s return to the peaceful, prosperous, Prattsburgh of old

To the Editor,
In her latest letter it was refreshing to see Ruth Matilski , admitting that her small vocal group of people, ” The Advocates”, have done their best to divide our great little town.

Truth, facts need to be put out in open

To the Editor,
I guess the vocal minority ended up being the vocal majority in the last election in Prattsburgh.

Let’s involve residents in discussions that affect them

To the Editor,
How can Mr. Benesh justify his claim in the BEGWS’s application that “there was no need to do an environmental impact study because it wouldn’t significantly affect the Fairview area?”

Let our politicians try living on minimum wages

To the Editor,
Those people who run these Govt. programs like Dept. of Social Services fail to tell you that there is an application process.

Why make the new substation so large?

To the Editor,
The recent Village of Bath Board Meeting was attended by the current contractor of the electric upgrade claiming no responsibility for prior contractor decisions, and the Village Attorney stating that  “For the betterment of the whole”, residential zoning was void.

Recent comments, opinions not based on factual knowledge

To the Editor,
The following comments are in response to Mary Perham’s story (“County to Probe Thurston Horse Rescue”) which appeared in the January 10th edition of The Leader.

Distraction, division makes a great smoke screen

To the Editor:
There is a vocal group of people in Prattsburgh who seem determined to use industrial wind as a wedge to drive people into opposing camps and keep them from working together.

Let food stamps help you do your work

Are you working but still finding it difficult to manage your monthly bills, particularly with increased heating costs at this time of year?

Who should be chastising whom for building snag?

To the Editor,
In the Dec 25 issue of The Courier the page 2 headline was “Klugo chastises board”.  Such a headline would make one think the Bath Village Board had done something wrong.

Christmas of future in Prattsburgh?

To the Editor,
As I awoke on Christmas morn, I was filled with joy that Santa and his reindeer were able to make it to Prattsburgh and past the hazards of the wind turbines. Will he just pass over this town someday? For there may not be any peace or good will to man here anymore?

Small town full of ‘sweetness’

To the Editor,
“Sweetness” of our small town, good things grow from bad experiences...

What’s happened to our defense system - and why?

Letter to the Editor,
This letter liberally references Brig. Gen. Jim Cash’s article entitled “Another Government Cover-up” in the January 2011 edition of Military.  I agree with his assessment that the contrail observed off the coast of California in November 2010 resembled a missile launch contrail, not an aircraft contrail.

What happens to the trash if we don’t recycle it?

To the Editor,
I can’t believe we will eliminate recycling in this town. After spending between $100,000 & $200,000 dollars on attorney fees, we can’t afford recycling?
