To the Editor,
This letter is written in response to two letters printed in the January 22, 2012 issue of The Courier. One letter was from Thomas Kelly, the other from Stacey Bottoni.
Mr. Kelly says we need “truth and facts put out in the open.” The biggest cause of division in Prattsburgh at this time is the issue of setbacks for the wind turbines. Those in favor of the turbines want short setbacks while those opposed want longer setbacks. That is our reality and facts. Something you failed to include in your many letters to the Editor.
In Ms. Bottoni’s letters she states that Ruth Matilsky should be applauded “for finally speaking the truth.” I’ve known Ruth for several years and have never known her to lie. You Stacey would come across as a lot more professional if you named some specifics instead of just pointing a finger and calling someone a liar.
You say “Many of us are just good, decent hard working, friendly folks.” This spoken by a woman who snarls when she talks. I don’t speak to my dogs the way you talked to your fellow Board members for the last two years. If this is being friendly I can only imagine what anger is. During the November 2011 Board meeting, you spent about 15 minutes verbally shredding over a dozen people during a public forum. There was a lot of venom dripping off of you, but not a lot of “goodness or friendliness.”
You accuse others of having an agenda; you have always had one. Your agenda is to further the interests of the people who develop wind turbines, regardless of the consequences. A few years ago you, Harold McConnell and Sharon Quigley voted for Eminent Domain for the turbine company, while the same company was being sued for non payment by the Prattsburgh School District. You again held true to your agenda.
You say you want peace? Your definition of peace is: We will have peace when you agree with me. Until then, anyone who dares to disagree must endure your wrath.
