Health care ‘reform’ another scam

Decades of election cycles have garnered naught but frustration for the American public. All accolades for our form of a Democratic Republic are historically rebutted by the (never mentioned) fact that virtually every socially progressive bit of legislation has in reality been enacted only because of massive organized demonstrations or the imminent threat of a bloodbath revolution. Think back to the creation of the 40-hour workweek, women’s liberation, child labor laws and racial equality, the list is as endless as it is revealing. False oaths and promises (from our elected officials) to defend and promote the will of the people have now become so socially ingrained as to have become an acceptable form of treason.
The current thrust to pass health care "reform" is a typical example of another insider scam. This time the giveaway is to the insurance and pharmaceutical industries in spite of, and in the face of, an overwhelming public desire for a European single payer format of universal health care. What in Hades is so wrong with having everyone’s medical needs taken care of, birth to grave, for half of what it now costs? Why the huge push to set in stone a program that, by design, won’t, be instituted for several years anyway?
It is my understanding that approximately 1/3 of voters now claim to be ‘independent’. I detect a huge disconnect here in that less than 5 % of them ever actually vote third party. It seems that corporate media has convinced them to always vote for the lesser of two evils rather than voicing their true feelings. Like lemmings, every few years they choose to jump over a cliff on their right or on their left, never realizing that they have the power to turn back. The political pendulum doesn’t have to swing in only two directions. All politics originate locally.
