The Bath Community should be aware of a recent incident at the Dormann Library. Sometime around 6 a.m. on the morning of Monday, Jan. 11, a water pipe broke in the attic of the Dormann Library above an office. This triggered an alarm and led to quick responses by two officers from the Bath Police Department, two volunteers from the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, an employee of Bath Electric, Gas & Water Systems, and Calvin & Joe Coots of Coots Contracting. The Library and the Bath Community are extremely fortunate that these people put their duty above their need for a little more sleep or a nourishing breakfast and quickly responded to get this situation under control. The water damage could have been much worse and at this point it has been completely repaired.
The Library Board wishes to thank those who responded and recognize the fact that our community is a much better place because of their diligence and efforts on behalf of all of us.
