To the Editor,
I, (a Bath Resident for over 70 years, a businessman and a homeowner) am surprised and disappointed that our elected officials would be “investigating the possibility of bringing back the West Washington Street Median” This is a decision concerning the entire village of Bath.
We, as village Residents, also use the street, and pay taxes: to change, update, repair, clean, and remove snow on this street.
It is unfair to ask only a select few to voice their opinion, on this change and not all taxpayers of the village.
I understand this is a State Highway but... we all are taxpayers, of village, county, and State.
My opinion (which according to the survey is NOT requested because I am NOT a property owner of West Washington Street) is: “The village of Bath does NOT need to go back in time to the 1950’s to re-do what was determined to be a hazard, and dangerous.”
The state does not have extra money, especially now for such projects... and Bath has a lot of more serious problems they should be looking into, and fixing. That concern the entire village.
I am also concerned that our village trustees (whom “we” elected) would limit their quest for input to only a small portion of the people in the village of Bath, when they were elected to represent the entire village. Why then don’t they want the input of the entire village on this matter.
