To the editor,
The last letter asked if the people of Prattsburgh would compromise, we have tried, but some people refuse to “come to the table”. Where was the compromise when the last Board chose the Zoning Commission, 4 anti-wind people, 2 pro-wind? Where was the compromise when Ecogen offered more money to the town in Judge Arks’ office, where was the compromise when the Board spent over 110,000 on a lawsuit when the Town needs a new water system desperately? Or how about the Road Use Agreement that was written and signed without our own Highway Supervisors’ okay? Then there was the change in the setbacks that was decided on last Dec. even against what the Zoning Commission agreed upon.
The people of Prattsburgh have to realize that Article 10 will take many of their choices away, we NEED to compromise with Ecogen, they won the lawsuit, if the Town continues with the “fight” we lose any chance of making decisions that will benefit the town. Too much money and time has been spent on a losing battle.
As to the town not being friendly? I wasn’t born here, nor went to school here, but I always find a smile or a Good Morning directed at me when I shop or go to the Post Office. You have to put something “in” to get something “out”.
Thanks,
