ROCHESTER - The Corning Hawks Varsity cheerleaders placed third in their division on Saturday at the Empire Cheer Winter Classic at R.I.T. In Rochester, NY.

“The girls are working hard to perfect their routine week by week,” Corning head coach Rebecca Volpe said.

The Hawks next competition will be the S.T.A.C. on Saturday, February 11th at Union-Endicott High School.

Addison 52, Bradford 34

ADDISON — Taylor Sutryk netted a triple double with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals as No. 4-seeded Addison defeated No. 5 Bradford 52-34 on Tuesday in the first round of the SCL tournament.

“Taylor (Sutryk) was all over the court tonight,” Addison head coach Joe Oliviero said. “She’s an outstanding player and really works hard.”

Kailee McClean posted 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights.

As a team, Addison had 17 offensive rebounds and had 26 steals.

Brittany Rinker recorded 12 points and Alexis Nowicki added eight points for Bradford.

“Little sloppy game tonight, but we’re happy to get the win and move on,” Oliviero said.

Prattsburgh 57, Campbell-Savona 28

PRATTSBURGH — No. 1 seeded Pratttsburgh took down No. 8 Campbell-Savona 57-28 on Tuesday.

The Vikings stormed out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and led 35-17 at halftime.

“We spread the ball around well in the first half, had balanced scoring and our man to man defense was pretty good,” Prattsburgh head coach Jeff Gilbert said.

Lauren Robbins netted 21 points to lead Prattsburgh. Hannah Hopkins contributed 14 points and had eight steals for the Vikings and Abbey Kennard chipped in six points and six rebounds.

Megan Lyke had seven points for the Panthers and Kayla Barron, Ivy Phillip and Taylor Scott each added four. The Vikings will face No. 4 seed Addison Thursday at Avoca at 7:15 p.m.
