JOHNSON CITY — Corning swept Johnson City 3-0 on Thursday by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-17 in a STAC volleyball matchup
Sade Sharkey had five aces, three kills and three digs for the Hawks, Gabby Jankowski had seven kills, Erica Kimble posted six aces and two digs and Ashlynn Hartman added four kills and three blocks.
“We played really clean volleyball tonight,” Corning head coach Irene Furness said. It was nice to see us settle in and attack tonight.”
Bath 3, Hornell 0
HORNELL - Bath traveled to Hornell and came away with a 3-0 sweep on Thursday by scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 25-22.
Jordan Machuga led the Rams with seven aces, 18 digs and four kills while Maddy Scott added six aces and 19 digs.
Jubalee Krisher registered 14 setter assists for Bath.
Maggie Shepard had 10 setter assists and seven digs and Lexi Hooker added seven digs and five kills for the Red Raiders.
Haverling will travel to Campbell-Savona on Monday for a game at 5 p.m.
Bradford 3, Scio 1
BRADFORD - Bradford topped Scio 3-1 on Thursday in Bradford on its senior night.
Brittany Rinker netted two goals in the contest with the first coming on an assist from Maria Antonio.
Antonio scored a goal in the second half for the Braves.
Allanah Allen recorded the lone goal for Scio.
Bradford outshot Scio 18-4 on the day.
Kirsta Sleve had three saves for Bradford and Megan Murray stopped eight shots for Scio.
The Braves (5-8-1) will travel to Cohocton to play Lima-Christian on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Canisteo-Greenwood 1, Addison 0
CANISTEO-GREENWOOD - Canisteo-Greenwood edged Addison 1-0 on Thursday.
Jaiden Weitzel netted the lone goal in the game on a penalty kick with 25:53 left in the game.
Addison outshot Canisteo-Greenwood 17-9 in the contest.
Megan Bulkley had seven saves for the Knights and Gretchen Hendrickson stopped 12 shots for the Redskins.
“I knew this was going to be a tough matchup,” Addison head coach Kay Peters said. “We had opportunities, they had opportunities. We both have good players. It was a great game to watch.”
Canisteo-Greenwood improves to 11-1-1 with the win, while Addison falls to 9-3-1.
The Knights will host Jasper-Troupsburg at 4 p.m. on Saturday for homecoming.
Jasper-Troupsburg 5, Campbell-Savona 0
CAMPBELL-SAVONA - Jasper-Troupsburg got offensive in its 5-0 win over Campbell-Savona on Thursday.
Brynn Waters netted two goals for the Wildcats and Kaitlyn Miles, Kathryn Groff and Sydney Prutsman added single goals.
Taryn Hayes and Ally Hayes picked up assists for Jasper-Troupsburg.
The Wildcats outshot the Pathers 22-4 with Taylor Scott stopping 13 shots for Campbell-Savona.
Waverly 10, Watkins Glen 2
WAVERLY - Waverly topped Watkins Glen by a score of 10-2 on Thursday.
Haley Dean and Isobel Sheffey had goals for the Senecas.
Ciara Barber posted 32 saves for Watkins Glen.
“It was a rough night playing the undefeated Waverly team,” Watkins Glen head coach Scott Morse said. “I’ve been pleased with the way we are playing but we struggled to get going tonight.”
Corning 4, Binghamton 3
CORNING - Corning dominated doubles play on its way to a 4-3 home win over Binghamton on Thursday.
Elise White (6-3, 7-6(9-7)), Samantha Tuberman (6-1, 1-6, 6-3) and Madison Weinheimer (6-1, 6-1) posted singles wins for the Patriots.
Riley Davis won the lone match in third singles for Corning 6-1, 6-0.
Alexa Cates & Tatum Treadwell (6-3, 6-1), Jessica Pesansky & Mia Colonna (7-6(15-13), 6-2) and Gina Landry & Sydney Wood (6-2, 6-3) all registered doubles wins for the Hawks.
Corning improves to 8-7 with the win.
Livonia 107, Bath 70
LIVONIA - Livonia earned a 107-70 home win over Bath on Thursday.
Morgan Farmer was a triple winner for Livonia, winnin the 200 Freestyle (2:03.03), 100 Backstroke (1:04.73) and Farmer was part of the 200 Medley Relay with Lauren TeBeau, Anna Krebbecks and Emily Cooper in 2:08.49.
Jessie LaRue was a winner in the 200 individual medley (2:27.07) and the 100 Freestyle (56.75) for the Bulldogs.
Cooper also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.75 and Elizabeth Fields took first in the diving portion with a score of 210.38.
For the Rams, MacKenna Taggart was a triple winner in the 50 Freestyle (26.7), 100 Butterfly (1:07.48) and was a member of the 200 Freestyle relay with Emily Palmer , Bethany Smith and Hailey Guadino, 1:56.05.
Tori Cleveland won the 500 freestyle in 6:07.05 and part of the winning 400 free relay with Kayleigh Stonier, Nina Raycroft and Angela Beyler who posted a time of 4:41.17
Bath will host Letchworth on Saturday at 10 a.m.
