CAMPBELL-SAVONA - Campbell-Savona used strong defense in its 46-15 win over Arkport-Canseraga on Wednesday in a Steuben County Athletic Association conference matchup.

The Panthers started out the contest outscoring the Blue Jays 20-5 in the first quarter.

“We played well defensively, we came out with a lot of intensity tonight,” Campbell-Savona head coach Bruce Mourhess said.

Quinn Littell and Patrick Dobson each had seven points for Campbell-Savona.

Zack Prial led the Blue Jays with nine points and Thomas Rink had sic points.

The Panthers (1-3) will face Naples on Friday in their next contest in the Dansville Tournament at 7:30 p.m.

Addison 62, Avoca 57

ADDISON - Addison topped Avoca 62-57 in its home opener on Wednesday.

The Knights took a five point lead in to halftime, but Avoca chipped away and cut the lead to two at 48-46.

Adam Chilson three straight 3-pointers, part of his 19 points, to extend the lead to 57-48 to give Addison the victory.

Danny Ames led the Knights with 21 points and Nick Sutryk had 13 points.

LaDre Stanford led Avoca with 18 points and Blake Abbott added 14 points. 

Prattsburgh 95, Alfred-Almond 33

ALFRED-ALMOND - Prattsburgh traveled to Alfred-Almond on Wednesday and came away with a 95-33 win.

The Vikings outscored the Eagles 51-24 in the first half.

Mason Putnam netted 24 points to lead Prattsburgh, while Moe Anderson and Garrett Socola chipped in 22 and 20, respectively.

Issac Little and Sam Warrent each had nine points for Alfred-Almond.

Prattsburgh (2-0) will travel to Hammondsport on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

SCAA girls basketball

Jasper-Troupsburg 57, Bradford 25

BRADFORD - Jasper-Troupsburg got offensive in its 57-25 win over Bradford on Tuesday.

Hailey McCaffery led the Wildcats with 14 points, Sydney Prutsman had 10 and both Taryn Hayes and Hannah McCaffery added nine points.

Jasper-Troupsburg outscored Bradford 21-4 in the second quarter to pull away.

Alexis Nowicki, Brittany Rinker and Rihannon Machuga all had six points for the Braves.

Arkport-Canseraga 41, Campbell-savona 21

ARKPORT - Arkport topped Campbell-Savona 41-21 on Wednesday.

Abbi Patrick netted 16 points and grabbed seven boards to lead the Blue Jays. Mackenzie Dingman added seven points and nine rebounds.

Kiara Barron and Paige Eddy each had five points for the Panthers.

“I thought we started off well on the defense end, we played really hard tonight,” Arkport-Caneseraga head coach Rob Patrick said.

With the win, Arkport-Canseraga improves to 2-1 while Campbell-Savona falls to 0-3.

NEWARK VALLEY - Watkins Glen took down Newark Valley 52-39 on Wednesday.

Ryanna LaMoreaux led the Senecas with 14 points, while Taylor Kelly added 10 points and seven rebounds.
