CAMPBELL-SAVONA - Campbell-Savona edged Lima Christian 37-31 at home on Monday in a non-league girls basketball matchup.
Lima Christian got off to a fast start in the first 16 minutes of the contest, outscoring Campbell-Savona 22-16 on the strength of 10 points from Ashley Christiansen.
"We had a bit of a slow start finding the basket," Campbell-Savona head coach Dawn Shanks said.
The Panthers came out of the second half playing lockdown defense, holding the Saints without a point for the third quarter and half of the fourth quarter.
Campbell-Savona had balanced scoring in the second half, outscoring Lima Christian 20-9.
Kiara Barron had six of her team-high 12 points in the second half and Katie Page also added six points in the last 16 minutes. Page ended with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Megan Bryan chipped in five points and recorded eight steals.
Christiansen had 17 points for Lima Christian.
"It was a great team effort throughout game," said Shanks.
The Panthers will host Alfred-Almond next Tuesday at 7 p.m. in their next game.
