DRYDEN - Corning Community College used a strong second half to top Tompkins Cortland Community College 78-69 on Thursday in Dryden in a mens college basketball matchup.

The Red Barons trailed by eight points in the second half, but battled back to outscore the Panthers 44-35 in the second half.

"This was a hard fought win for us, and a great effort on the defensive end of the court," Corning head coach Issac Bushey said. "We’ve gotten away from that recently, so it was important to re-establish that part of our identity as a team."

Isaiah Jennings led the Red Barons with 25 points and 12 rebounds and James Clarke added 20 points. Jabari Hibbert also chipped in 11 assists.

Tahleek Weekes had 21 points for TC3 and Jonathan Baker added 18 points.

STEUBEN COUNTY BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Addison 80, Bradford 37

ADDISON - No. 2 seeded Addison got offensive in its 80-37 win over No. 7 seed Bradford in the Steuben County Tournament on Thursday.

The Knights got off to a 25-8 lead in the first quarter, powered by 16 points from Danny Ames and never looked back.

Ames finished with 21 points and Adam Chilson posted 21 points.

Addison hit 15 three-pointers as a team.

Nate Barber led the Braves with 13 points and Nick Bailey added 10 points.

The Knights will play in the semi-finals of the Steuben County Tournament on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Prattsburgh 88 Campbell-Savona 32

PRATTSBURGH - No. 1 seeded Prattsburgh used a strong second half to top No. 8 seeded Campbell-Savona  88-32 on Thursday in the Steuben County Tournament.

The Vikings took a 29-16 lead at halftime and outscored the Panthers 59-16 in the final 16 minutes.

Nate Gleason had eight of his 14 points for Campbell-Savona in the first quarter.

"Starting slow, It’s been our MO for the season," Prattsburgh head coach Brian Putnam said. "We came out in the second half and were a lot better.

Mason Putnam led the Vikings with 30 points, Garrett Socola had 20 points and James Crowder added 11 points.

Prattsburgh handed out 21 assists as a team.

"I was really pleased with the way we shared the ball," Putnam said.

Watkins Glen 54, Newark Valley 35

WATKINS GLEN - Watkins Glen improved to 14-4 overall after a 54-35 win over Newark Valley on Thursday.

The Senecas outscored the Cardinals 22-6 in the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way.

Taylor Kelly led Watkins Glen with 21 points and Clara Chedzoy added 11 points.
