ADDISON - No. 5 Addison kicked sectional play off on the right foot with a 52-26 victory over No. 12 Williamson in the Section V Class C1 Tournament on Wednesday.
The Knights came out of the gates on fire and led 25-7 after eight minutes.
"We got off to a really fast start," Addison head coach Joe Oliverio said. "We came out with energy and the excitement for sectional time."
Addison led 33-11 at halftime and cruised the rest of the way for the victory.
Hannah Roy led the Knights with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Tayah Jackson added 13 points, seven assists and six steals and Veronica Dailey chipped in 10 points.
Kiki Hall had seven points for Williamson.
"Overall, it was a really good defensive effort from us," said Oliverio. "We held Kiki (Hall) to only seven points when she is averaging 23 on the season."
Addison will play No. 4 Notre Dame Batavia in its next contest on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the location still to be determined.
"It was a good team win and hopefully we can keep it going."
