HORSEHEADS - Horseheads topped Union-Endicott on Tuesday at home, amid snowy conditions, by a score of 14-9 in a Section IV girls lacrosse matchup.

"The conditions were terrible," Horseheads head coach Kelly Reilly said. "Girls on both teams couldn't see, but my girls never gave up and didn't let the weather effect them one bit."

The Blue Raiders led 10-6 at the end of the first half and never looked back.

Avery Snyder had five goals, Bella Carberry added three goals, Marissa Adams posted two goals and  Caroline Stevens, Mackenna Woodworth, Stephanie Vanriper and Abby Christmas all added single goals.

Catherine O'Mara contributed two assists while Stevens and Woodworth chipped in one assist.

"We found the open girl more than ever this game," Reilly said. "We had some great passes to open girls on the crease today."

Elizabeth Jankowski stopped 10 shots in goals for Horseheads.

"Lizzy has been doing an outstanding job in goal for us," said Reilly. "She has been making big saves for us."

The Blue Raiders improve to 5-2 with the win and will host Elmira on Friday at 5 p.m. in its next contest.
