WELLSVILLE - Addison won its seventh game in a row on Monday, a 7-3 road victory over Wellsville in a non-league softball matchup.
Both teams traded runs in the first inning as Laura Burrell put the Knights up with an RBI single in the top of the inning, but Savannah Perham responded with a matching RBI single in the bottom of the inning.
Addison took the lead in the fourth inning on RBIs from Kailey McLean, Sadie Morse and Bella Benjamin.
Wellsville fought back in the bottom in the inning, scoring two runs on a single from Matti Burke and a sacrifice fly from Morgan Sibble to pull the lead to within 4-3.
After the fourth, Burrell closed the door on Wellsville, retiring the next nine batters in a row for Addison.
"I thought we were really relisilent holding on to the 4-3 lead in the last couple innings," Addison head coach Oakley Hayes said. "It was a very well played game on both sides.
The Knights added three runs of insurance in the seventh inning on an error from Wellsville and an RBI single from Cassidy Fenner.
Burrell picked up the win on the mound for the Knights, allowing three earned runs in seven innings and punching out five.
Fenner had two hits for Addison along with Gabby Coletta and Bionca Conklin.
"Bionca Conklin stepped in and played well tonight after one of our players got injured," said Hayes.
Quinn Burke and Matti Burke each had two hits for the Lions.
Addison (12-3) will host Williamson Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in its next contest.
