Town of Campbell officials will receive free technical assistance next year on zoning for “smart growth.”
The town, which recently launched efforts to develop a comprehensive plan, has received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities program.
Smart Growth America provides a one- or two-day session to help community leaders keep their cities and towns livable, sustainable and economically prosperous, according to a press release from Nicolette Barber, an urban and community planner with Hunt Engineers.
The engineering firm was hired by the town as a consultant for its comprehensive plan.
In a prepared statement, Campbell Town Supervisor David Tennent said “the town is committed to making informed decisions about our community’s future. The technical assistance will fit seamlessly into our current comprehensive plan process, and help to inform the town’s vision about how we would like to grow.”
