A public workshop on the Bath and Savona Economic Development Plan has been set for 6 p.m., March 7 at St. Thomas Church Parish Hall, 122 Liberty St., in Bath.
Committee Chairman John Stranges said the town of and village of Bath and village of Savona are working to identify strategic developments that will take advantage of the community’s four interchanges on Interstate 86.
The public hearing is a part of a study designed to create investment opportunities, increase the tax base
and have an overall positive impact on the local economy, he said.
“This is an important study and I hope the public will come out, learn about it and contribute ideas,” Stranges said. “We want to identify projects that will increase our local tax base, put people to work and generally enhance our quality of life”
In addition to the March 7 workshop, the consultant, peter j. smith & company, inc., of Buffalo, are conducting four focus groups March 7 and 8. Another public forum will be held in May to allow the consultant to report the findings and recommendations of the study.
