Local elections saw few contested races Tuesday, with the closest contest in Steuben County decided by 49 votes in the Town of Wheeler.
In the Wheeler race, board-appointed Highway Superintendent Alan M. Trenchard was elected to the final year of an unexpired two-year term. Trenchard received 263 votes, with his opponent, former Highway Superintendent Randy L. Comstock taking in 214 votes.

Republican Peter C. Bradstreet ran unopposed and was reelected to a 10 year term with 26,292 votes.
• Bath town clerk
Republican Rhonda Tobias was elected to a one year unexpired term for Bath town clerk with 2,548 votes. Democrat Kyle Lowery received 1,017 votes.
• Campbell town
justice
Republicans Patricia L. Horton, and Douglas L. Horton, earned 882 and 883 votes respectively, and were both elected.
• Cohocton assessor
Republican Brenda A. Wise, running unopposed, was elected to served a one year unexpired term with 754 votes.
• Fremont
councilman
Donna Olin, running as an unopposed Republican, received 315 votes, and was elected to a one year unexpired term as Fremont town board member.
• Pulteney town justice
Unopposed Democrat Mary Hope Benedict was elected as town justice in Pulteney with 306 votes.
• Thurston town board
Sue E. Conklin, a Republican running unopposed, was elected to a one-year unexpired term on the Thurston town board with 406 votes.
• Urbana town board
Unopposed John R. Jensen, Purple Party candidate, was elected to a one-year unexpired term on the Urbana town board with 388 votes.
