NBC has ordered a drama pilot from J.J. Abrams and comedy pilots from Cougar Town's Bill Lawrence and Saturday Night Live's John Mulaney, TVGuide.com has learned.

In Believe, an unlikely relationship develops between a young girl with a gift and a man sprung from prison who has been tasked with protecting her from the evil elements that hunt her power. Alfonso Cuaron and Mark Friedman will write and executive-produce with Abrams and Bryan Burk.

Lawrence's Undateable is a multi-camera ensemble comedy about a group of friends dubbed "Undateables," whose lives are altered when a more confident character enters their world. Adam Sztykiel will write and executive-produce with Lawrence and Jeff Ingold.

Based on Mulaney's life, his untitled multi-camera project is an ensemble comedy that he created, will write and star in. Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer, Dave Becky and David Miner will also executive-produce. Mulaney, a writer on SNL, has appeared on "Weekend Update," and helped to create what is arguably Bill Hader's best character, Stefon.
