Chris D'Elia has landed the lead in Bill Lawrence's NBC pilot Undateable, TVGuide.com has learned.

In the comedy, a group of friends, dubbed the "Undateables," welcome a more confident guy (D'Elia) to their fold. D'Elia's Danny is attractive and impervious to outside opinions, which is why he helps his new roommate Justin (Brent Morin) and Justin's undateable friends try to transform.

D'Elia's casting is in second position to NBC's Whitney, which has not yet been canceled by the network, but since the Peacock produces both projects, it seems likely the Whitney Cummings comedy won't return. D'Elia will next appear on Comedy Central for a new special set to air in April.

Due Date scribe Adam Sztykiel will write and executive-produce with Cougar Town's Lawrence. Rick Glassman will also co-star.
