    AUO
    BATH | Michael T. Smith, 18, of 5600 County Route 10, was charged Aug. 19 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and following too closely.
    ASSAULT
    BATH | Thomas C. Chatman, 59, of 3 E. William St., No. 302, was charged Aug. 20 with third-degree assault.
    STEUBEN SHERIFF
    HARASSMENT
    BATH| David P. Smith, 46, of Karr Valley Road, Almond, and Deborah S. Smith, no age given, of State Route 36 in Arkport, were charged Monday with second-degree harassment.
    They allegedly had an altercation in the parking lot of the Steuben County Office Building.

    HORNELL | Eric F. Winkelman, 38, of Hornell was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
    WARRANT
    HORNBY | Terry J. Demonstoy, 30, of Hornby, was charged Aug. 13 on a warrant for failure to pay child support. He was arranged before Judge Joseph Latham and sent to the Steuben County Jail.

    ADDISON | Brian A. Aumick, 27, of County Route 5, Addison, was charged on a bench warrant Thursday with second degree criminal contempt.
    WARRANT
    PULTENEY | Dana E. Hanson, 47, of 9153 Route 74, was charged at 7:35 p.m. Thursday on a bench warrant for failure to appear. He was arraigned in Jerusalem Town Court where bail was set at $5,000.
    UNDERAGE DRINKING
    CAMPBELL -- Stephen P. Wray, 19, of Main Street was charged Aug. 22 with unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage under the age of 21 with the intent to consume.
     
    STEUBEN COUNTY DSS
    ILLEGALLY RECEIVING PUBLIC BENEFITS
    BATH | Frederick J. Mitchell, 50, of the Steuben County Jail has pleaded guilty to illegally receiving public benefits he is not entitled to, amounting to $665. Mitchell was sentenced to 90 days in jail, a 90 day conditional discharge and full restitution to the county. Mitchell is disqualified from future benefits, according to the county Department of Social Services.

    PETIT LARCENY
    HORNELLSVILLE | Adam J. Towner, 24, of Avoca, was charged Aug. 19 with petit larceny. He allegedly shoplifted from Dollar General.
    MULTIPLE CHARGES
    URBANA | Carol A. Elliott, 50, of Venetia, Pa., was charged Aug. 18 with second-degree harassment, resisting arrest, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and controlled substance not in original container.She was jailed on $1,500 cash bail.
    DWI
    URBANA | Terry J. Smith, 52, of Hammondsport, was charged Saturday with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
