Eric G. Drake, formerly of Fulton Avenue in Hornell, is accused of biting an unidentified corrections officer during an altercation. He was charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony.
The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday. According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Drake was allegedly involved in an altercation with another inmate, at which time the corrections officer stepped in to break it up.
As a corrections officer restrained Drake, Drake bit him on the hand, police said.
