WW II Korean veteran
Mr. Viselli died Monday, August 15, 2011. Born in Corning, N.Y., he was a son of the late Luciano and Angeline Todini Viselli. A veteran of World War II and Korea, he was a member of Knights of Columbus in Columbia. He was of the Catholic faith. ?Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Bob” Viselli and his wife, Marsha, of Greenville, PA; Lewis F. “Frank” Viselli and his wife, Sandi, of Columbia; Thomas “Tom” Viselli and his wife, Vicki, of Columbia, James “Jim” Viselli and his wife, Chris, of Bath, N.Y.; grandchildren, Calvin Tennant of Watertown, N.Y., Michelle Zimmerman and her husband, Joel, of Seffner, Fla., Tina Bean and her husband, Shad, of Bowling Green, Ohio, Torie Nlome and her husband, Jonas, of Columbia, Melissa Webster and her husband, Trent, of Columbia, Desiree Ruby and her husband, Scott, of Vista, Calif., Tony Viselli of Bath, N.Y.; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Viselli of Elmira, N.Y.; sisters, Felicia Cummings of Hammondsport, N.Y., Connie Sweeney and her husband, Carl, of Corning, N.Y., Rose Thomas of Painted Post, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Streit Viselli; daughter, Rose Bixby; three sisters; and two brothers. ?Funeral service with full military honors for SSgt. John Joseph Viselli U.S.A.F. (Ret.), 88, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the funeral home.
