  • Authorities have released the names of three teens whowere injured Wednesday, August 29, when the vehicle they were riding in collided with a dump truck in Hornellsville.
    The driver of the car, Branden S. Mulhollen, 19, of Cameron, suffered ankle pain and hand abrasions. He was treated at St. James Hospital and released.
    Passengers Christopher P. Martin Jr., 18, of Hornell, and Brandon Acor, 19, of Canisteo, were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of serious injuries.
    Martin, who was sitting in the back seat, suffered a pelvis fracture and abrasions to his face and legs. Mulhollen, who was sitting in the front seat and had to be extricated from the vehicle, suffered fractures to his right leg, as well as chest and arm pain. Both were in stable condition Thursday.
    The two occupants of the dump truck — driver Dale S. Smith, 61, of Hornell, and a 9-year-old girl — were not injured.
    The accident occurred around 1 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Laine Road and Lower Glen Avenue in Hornellsville. According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the dump truck had stopped at a stop sign, and as it proceeded through the intersection, it was struck by the teens’ Chevy Cobalt.
    The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending.
