  • Artists or those who just enjoy painting can help bring a new fresh look to downtown Bath.  “Adopt a Trash Can,” a project sponsored by the Bath Revitalization Group, would paint or place a vinyl sign on each of the 24 village-owned trash cans facing Liberty and Steuben street.
“We hope to begin with this in early July,” said Sheri Nobles, project spokesman. “The painting or the vinyl signs will face the traffic. And I think it will be a fun project for both students and adults.”
Nobles said she is hopeful the project will be completed by the end of July.
“We want tourists and citizens alike can enjoy something new and fresh in Bath,” Nobles said.
To adopt a trash can, contact Nobles or Debbi Deats at 776-5722 or 377-0003.
“Some people have already came forward to paint a trash can, but other cans are still available,” Nobles said. “This project is something new, and I hope from here on out it will be done annually.”
