  • Jesse Swan’s second-inning double gave Campbell-Savona (7-1) a lead it never relinquished in the Panthers’ 6-5 defeat of Bath-Haverling in Thursday’s nonleague baseball game.
Bath was up 2-0 in the top of the second, facing the bottom of the Panthers’ lineup when the Rams committed two errors to bring the top of the lineup to bat.
“Those errors really hurt us.” said Bath coach Bob Buckley. “We should have gotten out of the inning. But, their better hitters came up after that.”
Swan’s double scored a run and capped a five-run second inning. Cambell-Savona would tack on another run in the fourth inning to end Bath’s comeback attempt.
The Panthers’ B.J. Loucks, Brett Dilly, Troy Robbins and Jake Nichols each added an RBI. Pitcher Alex Space went the distance, allowing five hits in the game.
Bath’s Mitchell Buckley hit a triple and knocked in two runs. Pitcher Kody Ludden took the loss.
