  • Work will begin soon at the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad Crossing near the Interstate Highway 86 on and off ramps, in the village of Bath, near Route 54.
    Crews will be replacing the B&H railroad crossing gates and cantilever signals, according to Department of Transportation officials.
    Two-way, one-lane traffic will be maintained through the use of lane shifts and closures.
    The work is expected to be completed in mid-June. The contractor for this project is Railroad Signal International, Tulsa, Okla.
    Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
    In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
