  • An Avoca man was arrested for allegedly trying to sell stolen wedding rings on Craigslist, the Steuben County Sheriff ’s Office reported Thursday.
Cory C. Vanhorne, 28, was charged with misapplication of property, a Class A misdemeanor.
Sheriff’s deputies began investigating after receiving a complaint that a set of wedding band rings purchased online had come up missing after being delivered, and were listed for sale on Craigslist about a month later.
The sheriff ’s office set up a sting, and they say Vanhorne attempted to sell the wedding rings to an undercover officer on May 2 in the Village of Bath.
Vanhorne is scheduled to appear in Bath Village Court on May 22.
