  • The Office of Workforce Development & Community Education at Corning Community College is offering a course for individuals interested in beginning to officiate as a New York State notary public.
    The class is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 from 5–9 pm at Airport Corporate Park, Daniel Zenker Drive, Big Flats, NY. The cost for the course is $119.
    Endorsed by the American Society of Notaries, this class prepares participants to pass the New York State notary exam and provides a comprehensive view of the notary public office including helping participants understand confusing laws and concepts and explains procedures in plain English. Learn about the day-to-day issues a notary will face - avoiding conflicts of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, and when to defer to an attorney. Find out how to handle special situations, minimize legal liability, and much more. The New York State exam schedule will be available at the class.
    The instructor for the class, Kristen Schamel, is an attorney and brings a wealth of information and experience to the class.
