  • Hammondsport village officials hope to put the finishing touches on their 2013-14 budget after a 4 p.m. workshop Monday.
The workshop was slated after the village board accepted a single bid for garbage collection by Hoad for $58,000 next year.
The bid is a key component in next year’s budget, according to Village Clerk Lela Martuscello. Martuscello said there will be very few changes to the proposed new budget, outside of normal salary increases.
The village’s current budget of $608,000 includes a tax levy of $311,273. Last year’s levy boosted the village tax rate $.08 per $1,000, from $6.83 per $1,000 to $6.91 per $1,000, an increase of 1 percent.
Last year, the board also passed its first water rate hike in six years, raising the rate to $6.32 per 1,000 cubic feet of water, up $1.62 from the previous rate of $4.70 per $1,000 cubic feet.
That rate will stay the same in 2013-2014, Martuscello said.
