    Warrant
    • BATH | Brandon B. Niver, 29, of Vanerhoff Rd., Millport was turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office by the Chemung County Jail and arrested on an arrest warrant issued by the town of Bradford court for second-degree forgery. Allegedly Niver passed a stolen check at the Ranch 226 Restaurant in August of 2012. Niver was arraigned in the town of Bath court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Niver will appear in the town of Bradford court at a later date.
    • BATH | William J. Delio, 24, of East Washington St., Bath, was arrested at approximately 11:15 a.m. Feb. 26 on an active arrest warrant out of the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were alerted that Delio had an active arrest warrant by the probation department. Delio was arrested and transported to Chemung County where he was turned over to Tioga County Sheriff’s Deputies.
    • BATH | Roger Lynn Hopper, 43, of Campbell was arrested on Feb. 24. Hopper was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice out of the state of Pennsylvania on Meads Creek Rd., Campbell. Hopper was wanted on two bench warrants issued out of Tioga County, PA. Hopper has made previous appearances on the following charges, use and possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of theft by deception/false impression in Tioga County. Allegedly Hopper failed to reappear in Tioga County Court on those charges and fled the state of Pennsylvania. Hopper was arraigned in the town of Bath court and remanded to the Steuben Count Jail to await an extradition hearing in Steuben County court at a later date.
    • THURSTON | Walter S. Winnie, 55, of Lewis Road, Thurston, was arrested Feb. 24 on a bench warrant out of the town of Erwin court for failing to appear for a scheduled court appearance. Winnie appeared in Steuben Count Court and remanded to the Steuben County jail on $500 cash/$1,000 property bond. Winnie will appear in the town of Erwin court at a later date.
    • BATH | Deputies report the arrest of an Atlanta man following an incident that occurred on Feb. 9 leading to a warrant being issued for violation of probation. Deputies were contacted by a probation officer that Ryan P. Mcdermott, 21, was at their office and deputies responded and place Mcdermott into custody without incident. He was arraigned at in Steuben County Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail. He will appear in court at a later date.
    Several charges
    • WAYLAND | Karl F. Pierce, 58, of Ontario St., Hornell on Feb. 28. Pierce was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment following an investigation of a domestic incident that occurred in the town of Wayland. Allegedly Pierce caused damage to another person's property, struck another person and placed another person in fear of death. Pierce was not on the scene when deputies arrived however Pierce was placed into custody by the Hornell Police Department on separate charges soon after the domestic incident occurred. Pierce was issued appearance tickets to appear in the town of Wayland court at a later date.
    Page 2 of 3 - • LAWRENCEVILLE, PA | David A. Tormey, 22, of Lawrenceville, PA, was arrested on Feb. 24 and charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and two other traffic infractions. Allegedly Tormey was the driver of a vehicle that hit a fence on State Route 36, Troupsburg and left the scene. He then lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch a little farther south on State Route 36. Upon investigation he was found to be in an intoxicated condition. Tormey was issued four traffic tickets and will appear in the town of Troupsburg court at a later date.

    BATH | Stephen R. Wing, 32, of Bath, was arrested for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic stop on State Route 53 Feb. 21. Wing will appear in the town of Bath court at a later date.
    PAINTED POST STATE POLICE
    MVA hit and run/DWI/Aggravated DWI
    CAMPBELL | State Troopers responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Main Street in the town of Campbell Feb. 21. Following an investigation, James E. Okonsky, 32, of Beaver Dams, was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Okonsky was arraigned in the town of Campbell court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
    MVA hit and run/DWI
    ERWIN/PAINTED POST | State Troopers responded to the seven Eleven gas station on Victory Highway in the town of Erwin for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Feb. 15. While checking the area for the suspect vehicle, troopers were notified that the suspect had collided with a telephone pole near North Hamilton St., in the village of Painted Post. Following an investigation, Donald W. Piersons, 62, of Painted Post was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
    HORSEHEADS STATE POLICE
    Unlawful possession of marijuana
    • HORSEHEADS | David E. Hodder, 28, of Beaver Dams, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana on Feb. 21. Hodder will appear in the town of Horseheads court at a later date.
    • BIG FLATS | Charles J. Cerio, 23, of Elmira, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Feb. 20. Cerio will appear in the town of Big Flats court at a later date.
    Criminal contempt
    ERWIN | Brayden C. Bradley, 17, of Horseheads, was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt following a complaint Feb. 18. Bradley was arraigned in the town of Erwin court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.
    Driving while ability impaired
    • BIG FLATS | Stephanie J. Dyer, 35, of Big Flats was arrested for driving while ability impaired with a blood alcohol content of .07 percent following a traffic stop on Canal Street on Feb. 16. Dyer will appear in the town of Big Flats court at a later date.
    Page 3 of 3 - • ELMIRA | Catherine E. Dengle, 25, of Elmira, was arrested Feb. 17 for driving while ability impaired with a blood alcohol content of .07 percent following a traffic stop on Lake Street. Dengle will appear in the city of Elmira court at a later date.
    Petit larceny
    • HORSEHEADS | Amber E. Vinsek, 29, of Elmira Heights, was arrested for petit larceny following a shoplifting complaint on Feb. 21. Vinsek allegedly stole merchandise valued at $443.77 from Walmart. Vinsek will appear in the town of Horseheads court at a later date.
    • HORSEHEADS | A 16 year old Elmira youth was arrested Feb. 22 for petit larceny following a shoplifting complaint on Feb. 17. He allegedly stole merchandise valued at $318.76 from Walmart. He will appear in the town of Horseheads court at a later date.
    WAYLAND STATE POLICE

    DANSVILLE | Khiasha A. Martin, 18, of Elmira, was arrested Feb. 15 for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic stop on I-390. Martin will appear in the town of Dansville court at a later date.
    Harassment
    WAYLAND | Matthew L. Smith, 21, of Dansville, was arrested Feb. 19 for second-degree harassment following a complaint. Smith was arraigned in the village of Wayland court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
    Aggravated DWI
    DANSVILLE | Scott G. Hartwick, 48, of Dansville, was arrested Feb. 15 for aggravated driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on I-390. Hartwick will appear in the town of Dansville court at a later date.
    NORTH HORNELL STATE POLICE
    Aggravated DWI/speeding
    HORNELLSVILLE | John Peitrucha, 39, of Canisteo, was arrested Feb. 15 for aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .19 percent and speeding (40/30) following a traffic stop. Peitrucha will appear in the town of Hornellsville court at a later date.
    LIVINGSTON SHERIFFS
    MVA
    WEST SPARTA | Deputies received a report on Feb. 27 at 8:02 a.m. of a two vehicle accident involving a Dansville Central School bus. The accident occurred on Stoner Hill Road in the town of West Sparta, 18 year old Rebecca Lorow from Dansville, was traveling east on Stoner Hill Road when she lost control of her vehicle and slit into the oncoming westbond lane and collided head on with the school bus. The school bus was operated by Joyce Ebert, 50, of Hornell, and at the time of the accident there was one Dansville school student on the bus. The driver of the school bus complained of back pain and was taken to Noyes Hopital in Dansville. No other injuries were reported. Lorow was ticketed for failure to keep right and will appear at a later date in the town of West Sparta court.
