    Multiple charges
    BATH| John J. Sweet, 47, of Howell St., Apt. 2, was charged Aug. 29 with trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana.
    Petit larceny
    BATH| Robert Leroy Orr, 48, of 8011 Back Valley Road, Hammondsport, was charged Aug. 30 with petit larceny.
    Harassment
    BATH| Gerri Anne Stebbins, 46, of 332 W. Morris St., was charged Aug. 30 with second-degree harassment.
    Unlawful possession
    BATH | Gary L. Havens, 37, of 333 W. Market St. Ext., was charged Sept. 2 with unlawful possession of marijuana.

    Burglary
    NORTH HORNELL | On Monday, the New York State Police in conjunction with the North Hornell Police Department are conducting an investigation into numerous vehicles and residences being entered in the Heather Heights and Elmwood Ave. area of North Hornell, NY. The investigation has led to the arrest of Jacob Z. Peer, age 21, of Corning, NY for second-degree attempted burglary. Peer knowingly entered the house of a retired State Police member and active North Hornell Police Officer. Peer had discovered information the occupant of the residence was a retired state trooper while attempting to steal money from his vehicle in the driveway.

    Burglary investigation
    CAMPBELL | Troopers received a report of a burglary to a residence located on David Road in the town of Campbell September 1. Reported stolen was women’s jewelry, including earrings, rings and necklaces and also a Sony digital camera. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Inv. Chris Wilkinson at 607-962-3282.

    Violation of probation warrant
    BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Jeffrey Dale Eastman Jr., 25, of no permanent address on August 31. Eastman was taken into custody by the NYS State Police and turned over to deputies on an outstanding misdemeanor violation of probation warrant. Eastman was remanded to the Steuben County Jail after being arraigned in the town of Bath court.
    Violation of probation
    CAMERON | Deputies report the arrest of Austin J. Fritz, 20, of Learn Road, Cameron for violation of probation on Tuesday at the Steuben County Office Building. Fritz was arraigned in Steuben County Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
    Several charges
    BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Damien D. Hess, 28, of Bath was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment after investigation of a domestic incident at a residence on the Harrisburg Hollow Road. Hess was arraigned in the town of Urbana court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with $2,500 cash/$5,000 property bond and is to re-appear in the town of Wheeler court.
    Criminal contempt/harassment
    Page 2 of 2 - PRATTSBURGH | Deputies report the arrest of Robert E. Wood, 35, of West Creek Road in the town of Prattsburgh on first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment on August 31. Wood was arraigned at the town of Prattsburgh court and is being held at the Steuben County Jail and is due to appear in court at a later date.
    Underage drinking party
    ATLANTA | Deputies and the Cohocton Police Department report the arrest of several subjects Thursday night. Joshawa W. Simonds, 22, of Wayland was charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child. James M. Sick, 20,  of Wayland was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol under the age of 21. Jesse J. Early, 20, of Springwater was charged with possession of alcohol under the age of 21. The other 18 year old males are currently on probation and another 18 year old male were also charged with possession of alcohol under the age of 21. Allegedly an underage drinking party was taking place at a residence on West Avenue in the Hamlet of Atlanta when police arrive to investigate.
    Criminal contempt
    BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Daniel L. Buchanan, 32, of State Route 414, of Beaver Dams on Wednesday on a charge of second-degree criminal contempt at the Steuben County Office Building, Bath. Buchanan was arraigned in the village of Bath court and was released on his own recognizance and is due back in the town of Bath court at a later date.
    Several charges
    • TROUPSBURG | Deputies report the arrest of William J. Luce of State Route 36, Troupsburg on Monday. Luce is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, following a traffic stop on Back Street in the Hamlet Troupsburg. The operator of the vehicle, Brandon Haines was charged with operating a un-inspected motor vehicle. Both Haines and Luce are due to appear in the town of Troupsburg court at a later date.
    • TROUPSBURG | Deputies charged Steven B. Brewer, 22, of Troupsburg with failing to keep right and leaving the scene of a property damage accident on August 31 after an investigation into a report that a vehicle and struck a sign post marker and gone into a yard of a Troupsburg resident. The accident occurred around 1 a.m. August 31. Brewer and the vehicle he was operating, which had received extensive damage, were located at his residence around 7:45 a.m. Brewer will appear in the town of Troupsburg court at a later date. Other charges are pending further investigation.
