  • Fire officials said a Sunday night structure fire at a one-family residence on Cream Hill Road resulted in the total loss of the home.
There were no injuries reported. The cause remains under investigation
The fire at the two-story, wood-frame house was called in at approximately 10:50 p.m. Sunday night after an adult male and his daughter returned to the residence.
“They were not home (when it started),” said Fremont Fire Chief Garry Dye. “They returned and found it on fire.”
Fremont fire crews responded within five minutes and arrived on the scene at 8241 Cream Hill Rd., to find a “fully-involved” blaze, Dye said.
Some 25 members of the Fremont Fire Department and an equal number from neighboring departments battled the blaze into the early morning hours, Dye said.
There was mutual aid from Howard, Arkport, South Dansville, Wayland and North Hornell.
