  • Commencement for the 2013 Class of Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing was held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Meier Hall – Stephan’s Lounge at Elmira College in Elmira, NY. This marked the School of Nursing’s one hundred thirtieth graduating class.
    The ten-member class includes graduates Larissa Grace Borek of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; Curtiss Kevin Cole of Elmira, NY; Stephanie Corinne Dunckley of Elmira, NY; Alicia Marie Learn-Coryea of Elmira, NY; Ann Marie McCarty of Waverly, NY; Jordan Elizabeth Mowry of Elmira Heights, NY; Alexandra Louise Murdough of Elmira, NY; Eva Maria Rupik of Elmira, NY; Jennifer Marie Vesneske of Elmira, NY; and Dalysha Kae West of Troy, PA.
    The following awards were presented at the commencement ceremony:
    The Caroline Prutsman Award to Larissa Borek for excellence in nursing practice and professionalism.
    The Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Award to Larissa Borek for attainment of the highest cumulative average.
    Dr. R. Scott Howland Award to Larissa Borek for outstanding proficiency in maternity nursing.
    Isabelle Whitney Award to Alicia Learn-Coryea for outstanding performance both scholastically and in clinical practice.
    Dr. George Murphy Award to Stephanie Dunckley for demonstrating the greatest proficiency in pediatric nursing.
    Perioperative Nursing Award to Ann McCarty for proficiency in perioperative nursing.
    Director's Attendance Award to Larissa Borek, Alexandra Murdough, and Dalysha West for maintaining perfect/near-perfect attendance throughout the entire nursing education program.
    The Hildegard Peplau Psychiatric Nursing Award to Jordan Mowry for demonstrating the best performance in the psychiatric nursing clinical experience.
    Student Association Award to Alexandra Murdough for outstanding leadership in Student Association activities.
    Dennis K. White Award to Curtiss Cole for demonstrated personal and professional growth and perseverance during enrollment at the School of Nursing.
    District #3 Award to Alexandra Murdough for professional growth, maturity and commitment to the professional practice of nursing.
