An Elmira woman is facing prostitution charges after police observed suspicious activity Saturday morning, Elmira Police said.
Police said they observed a man in a truck pull up next to a woman who was standing on the corner of West Fourth and Walnut streets. After a brief conversation, Sindoni climbed into the truck, which then headed east on West Fourth Street, police said.
Police pulled over the truck and interviewed both occupants. The woman, Davetta L. Sindoni, 35, of Elmira, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.
It is the third arrest for alleged prostitution in Chemung County in less than a week.
Two women were arrested Friday after a two-week investigation into reports of criminal activity in the City of Elmira and towns of Southport and Big Flats.
Amanda L. Wilson, 34, and Floral I. King, 37, both of Elmira, were each charged with fourth-degree promoting prostitution and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, according to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office.
