About 75 properties are expected to be up for sale at this summer's Steuben County property tax foreclosure auction.

BATH | About 75 properties are expected to be up for sale at this summer’s Steuben County property tax foreclosure auction.

Pat Donnelly, Steuben County finance commissioner, said the auction will be held at 10 a.m. July 15 in the auditorium at Bath Haverling High School.

“The exact amount of properties have not been released yet,” Donnelly said. “But I expect we’ll have 70-75 properties.”

Pirrung Auctioneers Inc. and Thomas Wamp, licensed real estate agent, will again run the auction.

Donnelly told the Steuben County Finance Committee on Tuesday that some of the properties originally planned for auction will likely receive hardship deferrals prior to the auction.

Last year’s property tax foreclosure auction raised just over $1 million to help pay taxes owed by the 110 properties, Donnelly said. Properties being sold by Steuben County are behind on property taxes for two years, or had reached a payment plan with the county and then defaulted on it.

Also, Chemung County’s tax foreclosure auction will be held at 11 a.m. March 30 at the Holiday Inn, Elmira Riverview, 760 E. Water St.

Auction consisting of lots, acreage, camps, homes and commercial properties, officials said. Live and online bidding will be accepted. For complete auction and property information go to http://www.nysauctions.com/
