EAST CORNING | The Town of Corning has scheduled $250,000 in road repairs.

The majority of the work will involve micropaving several roads.

Micropaving involves applying an approximately one-inch seal coat of asphalt and crushed stone to seal cracks and other distortions in the road. It is a cost-effective method of protecting and preserving pavement, officials said.

Dibble Road, Powderhorn Drive, Lenox Drive, Whispering Wind Trail, Pine Shadow Lane and a section of Davis Road are scheduled for micropaving.

Sections of Hickock Road and Goff Road will be repaved.

Town officials said they will focus on the general area where the two roads intersect.

“For Hickock Road it's going to be a full repave for the first mile, intercepting Goff Road and heading north for a mile,” Town Highway Department Superintendent Dylan DeWert said.

Work is expected to begin in early May, officials said.
