Two people are facing charges after heroin and more than $1,000 in cash were found Thursday during a search of a Montour Falls residence, the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office said.

Adam C. Welch, 23, of Montour Falls, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.

He allegedly possessed heroin with intent to sell. He was arraigned in Montour Falls Village Court and sent to Schuyler County Jail on $2,500 bail and $5,000 bond.

Kayla M. Welch, 25, of Burdett, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was issued an appearance ticket on those charges.

She was also arrested on a warrant issued in the City of Ithaca for petit larceny, deputies said. She was turned over to the Ithaca Police Department.
