CORNING - Guthrie Corning Hospital revealed details Wednesday of the 60,000 square foot office building Guthrie’s constructing next to the main hospital campus.
The two-story Guthrie East Corning Medical Office Building, as it will be called, will host several relocated surgical medical specialty services. The building will be connected to the main hospital.
Guthrie officials said services will include OB/GYN, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, GI and urology.
“(The new building) gives us the opportunity to expand all of those services - we were sort of confined in our original space - but also bring them closer to the hospital,” said Dr. Karin DiBari, Chief Medical Officer and regional medical director at Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Approximately 25-30 medical providers will work in the new facility. Guthrie estimates the offices will provide roughly 65,000 visits a year.
Another 45,000 square foot medical office is under construction in the former Chase-Pitkin building in Big Flats. It will be called the Big Flats Medical Office Building.
The Big Flats location will offer cardiology, pediatrics, occupational medicine, endocrinology, neurology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, pain management, general surgery, ENT, pulmonary, rehabilitation, plastic surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and infectious disease services, with additional square footage for growth.
Both offices are scheduled to open in summer 2019.
