BATH - Swift response and outstanding teamwork saved the life of a Steuben County Jail inmate in early February, according to Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard.
Steuben County Jail corrections officers Jenn Smith, Brian Flynn, Brian Harrison, Angelo Sciotti, Daniel Cox, William Burd and Brandon Owen were recognized Monday for their life-saving efforts.
“It is my understanding the inmate suffered no lasting ill effects,” Allard told the Steuben County Legislature Public Safety and Corrections Committee Monday. “That was thanks to the absolutely quick response of the officers and the teamwork they exhibited. Their actions, working together as a team prevented a catastrophe and saved a life.”
