CORNING - The 12th annual Figure Skating Show held Monday at the Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink was a lot of fun for the skaters, as well as the fans in attendance.

Alex Hamilton, city parks and recreation director, said the figure skating club has worked hard all winter long to prepare for its end of the season ice show.

“The members have all learned a lot this year from the clubs instructors,” Hamilton said. “Jessica Pesansky has done a great job as the club's lead instructor, as well as all of the work she has done behind the scenes to make the club a success.”

Pesansky said it’s good to see the skater progress throughout the season.

“The ages of the skating club range from 10-years-old high school student to 76 years-old,” Pesanski said.

Skaters at the event were Rosario Savash-Acuna, Laura Wentzel, Jackie Osburn, Marilyn Oscadal, Julie Osburn, Lydia Keys, Joanna Lin, Chelsea Mitchell, Tess Eisner, Amanda Bansil and Pesansky.

The Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink will be closing for the season on Wednesday, Hamilton said. The rink will have open skate from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday.

“We will be offering one dollar admission and one dollar rentals on Wednesday,” Hamilton said.

The heavily used ice rink, which was built in the late-1980s, had a major $1.1 million upgrade in 2017.
