PAINTED POST - The name of the driver of the vehicle that struck an Addison school bus Wednesday has been released.
Kayanna Lehman, 23, of Addison, was killed when the vehicle she was operating crossed into the opposite lane on State Route 417 at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday and was struck by a Addison Central School Bus.
State Police said no one else involved in the accident was injured, including two children in Lehman's car, and the investigation is continuing.
The car was traveling eastbound on State Route 417 and for an unknown reason crossed over into the westbound lane and struck the school bus head-on.
The driver of the car, Lehman, was killed and the driver and the 10 students on board the school bus were uninjured.
Troopers said EMS ambulance was on scene and checked out all of the children involved in the accident and reported no injuries, according to police. All the children were transported to Guthrie Corning Hospital for further checks.
State Route 417 was closed in the area for several hours.
