CORNING - The City Parks and Recreation Department is offering area youth a week of water fun over spring break.

Alex Hamilton, city parks and recreation director, said Splish Splash Water Fun will be held 9 a.m.-noon April 15 through 18 at the Corning Painted Post Middle School pool.

Participants will play games like sharks and minnows, water polo, water basketball, free swim time and more, Hamilton said. Thirty minutes each day will be dedicated to improving swimming skills taught by the recreation staff.

“We are excited to be offering a camp that allows children the opportunity to build on their swimming skills, stay active and heave a great time over spring break,” Hamilton said.

City Manager Mark Ryckman called the event another great example of the high quality programs the city offers to kids through the Parks and Recreation Department.

Camp is open to participants ages seven to 14, Hamilton said. The cost is $25 for Corning City residents and $30 for non-residents.
