CORNING - Pathways raised $10,000 during Saturday's Trucks! Trucks! Trucks! Fundraiser in Painted Post's Hodgman Park.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our amazing sponsors and our community,” said Stephanie Miller, Pathways Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “A huge 'Thank you' to everyone that came out to support us on Saturday.”

Miller said the funds will be used to benefit the Erwin Child and Family Center and Pathways’ Kids’ Adventure Club program. The money will offset costs for summer activities and trips to places such as the Denison Park pool, the Ithaca Science Center, the Rochester Museum of Science, the Corning Museum of Glass, Mooney’s in the Arnot Mall and the Park Avenue Sports Center.

Saturday’s event, which drew about 1,000 people, featured a variety of emergency and service vehicles parked throughout Hodgman Park. Children and families were allowed to view the vehicles up close and even check out the inside of some of the equipment.

Some of the vehicles on display included police cruisers from the Painted Post Police Department and New York State Police, and more than a dozen fire trucks from the Painted Post, Forest View-Gang Mills, Coopers Plains and South Corning fire departments. A Guthrie medical transport helicopter also made a brief appearance.

T&R Towing, the event's other host, also brought a fleet of vehicles, including a 60-ton rotator resembling a mobile crane that was used to lift a 56,000-pound truck off the ground in a demonstration.

Other vehicles included garbage trucks, cranes, construction vehicles, emergency response and command center vehicles, and the Elmira Enforcers’ ice resurfacing machine.

Event sponsors included Magic 92.7/97.7, Goodrich Auto Works, Employment Solutions of New York, H&H Financial, Chilson-Wilcox, Empire Access, Wilbert's U-Pull It of Bath, W.J. Farmer Insurance Agency, Casella Waste, Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting, First Heritage FCU, Fox Auto Group and Graph-Tex.
