BATH, NY.,  Dick (Richard) Walters, born 3/4/30, formerly a Long Islander having relocated to Bath in 1989, touched the face of God 1/29/19. His love of flight and his passion for sharing that love will be remembered by all who knew him. He was an active member of Keuka Lake Amateur Radio and served on several community committees. He gave his time to many youth oriented programs over the years and later as a volunteer at the Curtis Museum, National Warplane Museum and for the American Red Cross, but he put his heart and soul into serving fellow veterans at the Bath VAMC in many capacities for 27 years. Dick served 4 years in the US Navy and later 2 years in the NYANG.

Dick is survived by Ruth, his wife of 50 years, son Russell, daughter Diane, 5 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, a sister, nieces and nephews, as well as earlier family of 3 children and their families.

His family is forever indebted to the staff of the Bath VAMC for their love and caring while Dick was a patient. It is true, you get what you give but their hearts are truly in their service to Veterans.

There was a short service at the Bath National Cemetery on Friday 2/1/19 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dick’s memory may be made to the Bath VAMC c/o Voluntary Services, 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath, NY 14810 or Keuka Lake Amateur Radio, PO Box 250, Bath, NY 14810.

Arrangements are being handled by Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath.
