Reginald R. Gehret (Regi) passed away on Thursday, January 24th in Boca Raton, FL. 

Reginald R. Gehret (Regi) passed away on Thursday, January 24th in Boca Raton, FL.  He was born July 28, 1936 to Reginald and Helen Gehret in Williamsport, PA. 

Regi graduated from Williamsport High school  in 1954 and then served in the Navy as a radar specialist for three years.  He attended Elmira College and got his degree in Technical Education from SUNY Utica/Rome. He worked for the Elmira School System as the head Engineer for the district educational television system.  In 1974, he began teaching Computers and Electronics at the BOCES Wildwood campus in Hornell.  He owned and ran Regi Electronics in Hornell for several  years during that time. He loved teaching and this love was reciprocated by many of his students.   In 1998, he retired from BOCES and soon thereafter he and his wife, Georgiana, traveled a great deal. He and Georgiana were especially fond of New Orleans as a destination.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Georgiana Underhill Gehret, his children Marianne Brown of Elmira Heights, NY, Jeffery Gehret of Apalachin, NY, Sharilee Martin of Elmira, NY, Judy Manzo of Hector, NY, Austin Gehret (Jennifer Mathews) of Rochester, NY and McCray Gehret of New Rochelle, NY; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grand children. He is also survived by his sister Peggy (Bob) Quigley, brother James (Nancy) Gehret, sister Nori (Vern) Dorsey, and brother Don (Anne) Gehret.

At his request there will be no service.  Anyone wishing to remember Regi is asked to consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s Foundation in his memory.
