Daniel E Soles, 87, of Bath, NY passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 6, with his family by
his side.

“A man is only as good as his word,” and Daniel was a man whose word was as good as they’d come. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who would do anything for those that he loved. Daniel served in The United States Navy for 4 years and worked at The Veterans Administration for 35+ years. Those who knew Daniel knew that he was anything but ordinary. He was a man of many qualities which included, being supportive, gentle, adventurous and having a huge love for his country, but most of all he loved his family and beautiful soulmate of 65 years. The love that Daniel had for his wife, was the kind of love you’d see in the movies, and anyone that encountered the two of them, including their family, knew that their love was the love you wanted for yourself. Daniel had a passion for everything outdoors—he loved to hunt with his sons and grandsons, fish at his pond, turkey hunting, riding his motorcycle, playing pool and horseshoes— and he enjoyed it all so much that he shared that passion with his children and grandchildren, teaching them the ins and outs of all of the above. Overall, Daniel was one-of-a-kind, and those who knew him knew that not only did he love his family, wife, and the outdoors, he LOVED his sweets—it didn’t matter what mood he was in, it was desserts over
everything.

Daniel is predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Daniel Soles, his soulmate Cora L Soles, brother Charles Soles, sisters Eleanor Turner and Pauline Howell, son Edward Travis, daughter Paula Soles, grandson Christopher Soles and great-granddaughter Audra Vera. He leaves behind his two daughters, Karla Buckley (Robert) and Darla Costa (Chris). His two sons, David Soles (Annabella) and Danny Soles. Along with all of his grandchildren whom he loved dearly and who were the light of his life- Theresa Costa, Brooke Buckley, Trent Buckley, Holly Bianchi, Sara Tilley, and Travis Otero. Great grandchildren, Rebekah, Kira, Arianna, Gabriel, and Axton. Loving sister Harriet Bennett and close friend, Richard Conklin, along with many special nieces and nephews.

There will be a grave-site service for close friends and family, April 27th, at 11:00 am at The Nondaga Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at The Bath American Legion 12-2pm.
