On Friday June 14th Bruce Spicer went home to be with his Lord.

Having been surrounded by family throughout the evening, he breathed his last the way he would have wanted: with his beautiful bride by his side.

Born August 31, 1947 in Bath, NY Bruce was a graduate of Haverling High School and Mesa Community College and a 40 year employee of
Mercury Aircraft; retiring in 2008.

Bruce was predeceased by parents Iva and Birch Spicer, sister Bonnie and brother William, and brothers-in-love Dennis and James White and mother and father-in-law, James and Elthea White.

Bruce is survived by his beloved Bonnie, son Don (Linda) Cole, daughter Jennie Knox, son-in-love Joe Knox,  spare daughter Lea (Matthew) Kelly; grandchildren: Christopher, Donalynn, Zoe, Devin and Colin; brothers and sisters-in-love: Wendell and Marilyn Ross, Lisa White, and Joyce Walker White; and dearest nieces and nephews: Kevin and Kathy White, Christopher and Pamela Ross, Rebecca White, Sarah and Christopher Faylor, Tabitha and Ken Martin, and James and Kayla White, Cindy Campbell, Scott Neff, Chris Spicer, Belinda Manjarres, Diane Spicer, Theresa Torres, Salina Santiwan  and Angelina Ulate.

Also surviving Bruce are his constant companions Chickadee (aka Duchess) and Jack, and his auxiliary “cat”: the Dear
Deadly Daisy.

Bruce was a lover of sports, never giving up on his Minnesota Vikings.

Bruce was a voracious reader; a lover of literature.

There was rarely a B-Movie in which Bruce didn’t find value.

Although he was not demonstrative, Bruce was a champion of the under dog and the first to extend a hand to someone in need of care, and that is a powerful legacy.

Bruce’s celebration of life with a meal to follow will be Thursday July 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God in Bath, NY.

Donations can be made to Bethel Assembly of God’s Children’s Ministries or CareFirst, in lieu of flowers.

All arrangements were handled graciously and with great care by Bond-Davis Funeral Home.
