Harold McConnell died June 14, 2019 in Douglas, Ga. He was born August 3, 1928 in Bath, N.Y., to Carol and Warren McConnell. He attended Prattsburgh Central School (PCS) where he played basketball, excelled in tennis and loved all sports. He also played in the school band. He married Nancy Morey in 1949. Together 70 years!
He was vice president of Central Trust Bank in Prattsburgh until he bought Winston Real Estate.
He served as president of PCS School Board of Education and also served at Steuben Alleghany BOCES from 1978 to 2013. For this service he was given the Walter Turner award in 1998 for outstanding leadership in Education – a national award. He was a Mason and a Rotarian for 50 years and was Prattsburgh Supervisor for many years.
He is survived by his wife, his two sons, James with his wife Peg and Chris with his wife Tonya, two sisters, Martha Henderson and Janice Ogden, one grandson, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter and two great grandsons.
He was predeceased by his great granddaughter Isabelle.
A memorial service will be held sometime in September in Prattsburgh, the town he loved.
